1989 Rickenbacker 330

This guitar was fitted with a Mastery bridge in January 2022. The upgrade has produced a major difference in tone and playability. Brian bought this guitar new in August 1990, when he was 17. It satisfied a small part of his obsession with REM's Peter Buck, but would later bring him closer to Johnny Mar of The Smiths, Tom Petty, and Guy Picciotto of Fugazi. Says Brian, "This is the guitar I dream in. I got it when it was new, and now it's vintage... so I'm vintage too, I guess. (...sigh)."
